In our busy world, it is totally normal to experience a certain amount of anxiety and stress, and in some instances it can actually be a positive thing!

But when it persists, and that worry and stress become a constant weight on your shoulders, it’s possible that your anxiety may have moved in to disordered territory.

The intensity and frequency of the stress and worry are almost always totally out of proportion to the actual likelihood that the feared events will even happen, and can become limiting and interfere with basic functioning when left unchecked.

This quiz is designed to help you assess whether you are suffering from Anxiety.

 

How to take this Quiz:

Please go through each question and select the response that is most accurate for you and applicable to you over the past week.

There are no right or wrong answers.  Do not spend too much time on any statement.

 

 

In the last week...

1) I was aware of dryness of my mouth
2) I experienced breathing difficulty (eg, excessively rapid breathing, breathlessness in the absence of physical exertion)
3) I had a feeling of shakiness (eg, legs going to give way)
4) I found myself in situations that made me so anxious I was very relieved when they ended
5) I had a feeling of faintness
6) I sweated/perspired noticeably (eg, hands sweaty) in the absence of high temperatures or physical exertion
7) I felt scared without any good reason
8) I had difficulty in swallowing
9) I was aware of my heart rate increasing, or my heart missing a beat without physical exertion
10) I felt I was close to panic
11) I feared that I would be “thrown” by some trivial but unfamiliar task
12) I felt terrified
13) I was worried about situations in which I might panic and make a fool of myself
14) I experienced trembling (eg, in the hands)
